A hardy creature adaptable to most climates and terrains, Amaset are mostly scavengers of kills from larger aeon. If nothing is available, they will hunt down and eat Ib. Taothomet learned that Amaset are very friendly when food is involved, leading to their domestication by taothomet that share the same biomes. Amaset are often trained for scouting, and excel at finding and retrieving just about anything.

Amaset are considered the baseline of Shade, being the first in and best model for the clade. Shades are known for void use, allowing them to manipulate the shadows to help them hunt. Gold naturally grows in rings around the neck and wraps around the back of the head and ending at the forehead. The metal also grows in the ears as a natural heat sink for when they use fire heka.

Renaissance doesn't change them too much, but does make them more resilient. This form is normally used for protection against the climate, withstanding sand storms and scorching heat.
