Characteristics

Biology

Various anatomical traits are shared across Aeon besides the ability to renaissance. One is high resistance, and sometimes immunity, to radiation, which is attributed to the radiation bath provided by Kin.

Aeon are also extremely similar to synapsids, so anything can be an egg layer or livebearer. This includes verdigris, which can skip processes often required of plants on our own world.

Measurements

pending madness

Verglas

The ocean is collectively known as one name, with sections like bays and straits named, such as Ue Sound. It is freshwater, another contributor to the lack of rusting and decay on Umeon.

Clock & Obliquity

A full day is 28 hours long, with increments of time being octogesimal: an hour being 80 minutes and minute being 80 seconds [similar to our days if they were about 36 hours], using the star system celestial bodies to create a measurement of the now. Calendar days and months are based on the movement of Umeon's natural satellites to scale the planet's full circuit around the star.

Umeon's axial tilt is 10 degrees, with starrise/starset from west to east. There are 11 time zones, starting from 0 in Eo Tua, following rotation, ending with mostly empty Verglas at +10.

Star Meridians

Star Meridian sites are points created by Djeart for sovereignties when time zones were established. These sites hold different purposes, some serve as sanctuary points, others as outposts. Djeart originally created them for their Effulgent Aim project, which brought Kiamat into the world.

Most common ore used to make their world's steel. Umeon's iron has been completely corrupted by an unknown gold-chromium-like hybrid that essentially nullifies rusting in etun.

Glass of Life

gl'eye'st

A corundum/topaz/glance hybrid from Ix. Like Ix wasn't already well off, just like Glance, Ix also has the only source of this gemstone. Related to glance, it is often, if not always, used as screens, such as for Wattkin spellbooks, for powering/operating displays.

Glance

Etymology
Charged Glacier
Diction
glanse

This conductor of electricity can be combined with metals to power nearly anything, and is used in most wireless objects. The only place it can be found and mined is in traditional Eithelat lands in Ix, bestowing the Eithelat in riches, more so once newer technology developed.

Ilelium

Etymology
Ileli's Iron
Diction
ILL'lehl'ee'uhm

The continent of Ileli is rich with this ore, a coral/metal mutation. Ileli's death created this mineral, absorbing heka from water-based life around her, and then her death converted various metals under her into the aptly named ilelium.

The Flashing stone, a stone of protection to the Eithelat, they discovered the fact that they fade to a dark magenta in close proximity to aeon that are not Taothomet or Gryphons. What actual purpose this may serve is beyond them, but it didn't stop them from utilising it in their inventions. The fervor of the gem's colour change and brightness is based on the size of the creature near it, and this is why it is mostly used in pylons, road beacons that mark most major roads.

Popular Culture

Arts

Espiers

Viewable time-wasters are extremely popular even on Umeon, with recorded plays, films, hand-drawn, and serials made available through the aeriform, usually viewed on Wattkins.

Oaky & Okwi
A Sojourner that dedicated their life to studying everything Belinques turned her collective works into various shenanigans about the things these creatures would get up to, as represented by two made-up Belinques named Oaky and Okwi. She submitted them to the Sojourn Guild to be used by any other Sojourners studying Belinques to continue their stories, so there are multiple iterations.

Relic Runabout
So, so many things carry many secrets, be it their origins, or if it carries any kind of heka properties. It started as someone wanting to document a Hekat identifying the heka properties of a collection of relics owned by a Ciretieaux Postmaster. Then it turned into a popular espier when the Hekat started gaining requests to view other collections and eventually needed more help.

Sports

Accretion Disk

A game similar to a mix of Lacrosse and Mesoamerican Ballgame, played with a palm-sized rubber ball and racquets, with the goalpost being an upward hooped disk the ball must pass through for points, depending how it was scored. The Mentandgar invented this sport, and often play a racquet-less variant of it while Renaissance.

Asteroid Belt

Getting hit with a bouncing ball is far better than being pelted with a rock at high velocity, or about the same if you dodge so hard you break a leg landing.

Orion's Belt

An almost perfect facsimile of Baseball, wildly popular amongst Djeart, Len, Nechihan, and Reukh.

Seasons & Weather

Harvesting
On Umeon, growing, planting, and harvesting can be done at any time of the year, as most of Umeon is rather tepid, though most cultures have their own yearly pattern to prevent destroying soil and to keep consistent cycles that coincide with natural growth.

Weather Events

Effervescent Star

Convection mirages from roads are fun and all, but have you ever been to the Walled Shallows and watched the star itself boil out sharp halos of light in bubble-like patterns, because the Soku'on and Cyoou Toh don't seem to think anything about that is weird.

Ion Shatter

Most noticeable during the day, ions seem to collapse out of existence and take light with it. Very much like a reverse lightning storm, it creates a dark flash that consumes light around it. Often occurs before actual lightning storms, usually when it's bright and hot.

Parhelion (Blood, Ice, Star)

Ice being the most commonly known of the parhelia, high ice scattered and reflecting light, while the others came into existence with the Kiamat. Star parhelion as a name doesn't sound any different from an ice parhelion, ice is explained by the ice after all, but star isn't explained by anything other than being like an eclipse. Blood parhelions are the rarest, with the only explanations so far being death and Kiamat being there.
