TechnologyThe newest technology is often nicknamed "nova". Sometimes nova will warrant some form of training before operation, such as vectors. Those who create nova, engineers, scientists, designers, anyone who helps develop new technology, and have joined the Nova guild, can refer to themselves as Machinors. So long as these creators do not make anything that can function on its own independence, as that will be labelled a crime.
Relics are categorised as the more heka-fuelled technology and often originate from the distant past, usually with all information about it lost or obscured.
Aeriform
Localised extra- and intra-networks that can be accessed from the interconnected aeriform system. Used as a radiotelegraph messaging and information relay, replacing the old system of wires that required too much maintenance to keep updating. When wires were abandoned in favour of Glance, referring to the whole as the "wire" persisted to modern times.
Wattkin devices made to access the aeriform allows users to perform actions like record and save any wire messages, project a direct broadcast, move transferable data through cartouches, post local bulletins, and so on. When Wattkins became more mobile this allowed Nova creators to make it possible to link them with older grounded aeriform stations already in place in most sovereignties to quickly upgrade them.
Espiers are watchables on the aeriform, the ultimate time killer.
Cartouche
- 8 connectors @ 2cm (0.79")
Bridging the gap between most devices is the keypunch cartridge known as the Cartouche. It is a multi-use aperture card used for, among other things, identification, banking, agenda, moving and/or storing information, and securing locks—if you really want to ditch more traditional keys. It is a solid rectangular form of metal that is inserted into larger machines for access, just like a punch card. Security for the cartouche varies depending on manufacturer and the commissioner, as the majority are custom made for the owner. The rest are often made to easily transfer money, similar to bearer notes.
Light Echo
Hard light technology created by the Len, updated later by the Nova guild. It functions as a prosthesis, mimicking the user's original limb as a ghostly dark light replacement, functioning as it once did. Creating a Light Echo is expensive, making its overall distribution rather limited.
Pylon
- Empyrean detection radius improved to 10 Hekatones (100km).
Vector
For going from point A to point B without having to use your own legs or wings, or the legs or wings of a creature you happen to own or control. Those who actively participate in using these vehicles are notoriously chaotic with their toys, and are often disliked by those who prefer the more traditional modes of transport. A more favourable form of transportation amongst the masses include Atren, which are available in most places at fair rates.
AtrenLocomotives, trams; any track-based vehicle to move people and things. Travelling on atrens is currently the most popular way to travel across Umeon, as most atrens are affordable, and readily equipped with security that can deal with disturbances. They are modestly priced to board due to atren engines being simple and cost effective to construct, relying almost entirely on the specialised tracks to power them.
These tracks are what the Eithelat would refer to as valueless, in the sense that the metal and mineral used are extremely common, and no one should be tempted to heist pieces for profit. If any parts go missing or are damaged, the Constabulary will quickly find out if it was caused by wildlife, or mischievous Taothomet.
RunaboutThe most common of the land vectors, sold directly by Nova Guild. Once owned, these machines are often subject to modifications by their new owner.
Stalwart, circa Ienoch 9965 variantA much larger Runabout, with more storage space, mostly used by the industrial sectors for transporting materials.
Vehement, Major/Minor variantsTanks, totally for mining reasons.
Wattkin
Their computers, a typewriter filing system recovered from ancient relics. Updated to a punch card contraption, till an epoch later when more modern Machinors reworked it into an efficient machine capable of so much more. They now run in tandem with the aeriform services for increased file storage. Smaller, portable Wattkins are nicknamed "spellbooks", often due to how specifically catered it is to its user.
WandA stylus used on mobile Wattkins. They act similar to a scope probe, in that they are able to send information to the Wattkin screen when waved around or when poked into things. Wands also make using the screens of Wattkins a lot simpler.
Awakened Stardial
Forged in the Awakened Forest in Sihu, by the forest itself, this stardial doesn't just show the time, it holds the properties of time itself.
Electric Flash
A staff with lightning properties, and home of the beithir Shambler.
Hands of Time
Sovereignties have passed these weapons around for ages, and continue to do so. Most information about these weapons were lost by the time they were given to the Keepers of Ancestral Hearts, which were then entrusted to its best Khe'heb'ka. Each weapon is reminiscent of clock hands, are pure black, and represent hours of the day. These weapons also hold properties that imbue their holders.
